The Designer Wall Finishes™ Two Workshop continues the faux finishing experience begun with Designer Walls One.  Exciting new materials will be introduced using a variety of innovative methods.  Familiar products combined with new techniques will allow students to increase their proficiency with these products and create spectacular showcase finishes. Old World cracked and distressed plaster finish While your client-base is growing it is also becoming more sophisticated. Many of them are well-traveled and see many interesting finishes, especially the plaster and fresco finishes in Italy. Often your potential customers are asking for very specific finishes. Many want their special surroundings to invoke a certain feeling or a particular environment. The client's awareness challenges all of us to create more sophisticated finishes. This class will provide you, the artist, with a distinct advantage over the competition when attempting to fulfill the expectations of discriminating clients.  Be able to offer your customers those same sophisticated finishes they’ve seen abroad, in magazines, or in other homes. Finishes on this sample Venetian Gem® Two Tone Tripoli SandStone™ over PlasterTex® & LimeSlag™ RsStone® Designer FoilFX™ over Black Setcoat® O'Villa® Tuscan with Stencil Elephant Skin Texture & O'Villa® Hammered Gold Palette Deco® Crackled Linen Delicious Dallas™ Chipped Plaster SandStone™, PlasterTex® with LimeSlag™, and LimeStone Paint & Wash™ With Venetian Gem™ Plasters, you can produce the most simple and elegant hi-low polished plaster or capture the Pacific "Abalone Shell" with "iridescent" Venetian Gem™ Plaster over coats. These descriptions are only the beginning. Look through the many veils of "metallic" Venetian Gem™ , gaze into the depths of "pearlized" Venetian Gem™ or encase them with the appearance of layered gloss with our Gloss Venetian Gem™. The "Old World" traditional style of layered plaster has been, and remains, an intricate portion of this exciting "Faux Effects® Workshop." If you have currently been using traditional plaster material, we invite you to "trowel" and create with ours. With Venetian Gem™ Plasters, the results are much easier to achieve than with traditional plaster. There are various grades of this material, from sandy to ultra-fine which produce distressed and art embedded finishes to simply smooth and shiny effects. The combinations are limitless, showing the depth and multi-faceted expression of this subject. We encourage you in class to experiment mixing, matching, and layering Venetian Gem Plaster™ because it has so many winning combinations. While "Venetian Gem™ Plaster" is a major portion of this workshop, there is much more to learn...Our Faux Color™ dances with delight at the mere sight of Activator II™ , making its own color patterns beautifully and naturally. Faux Color™ mixtures can also be sprayed, creating elegant, timeless effects efficiently. We all need a few advantages to working quickly and this technique is definitely one to add to your portfolio. Other finishes are also included, such as rusted-iron and antique metals.
